I’m quite liking WordPress and have been wanting to have a bit more of a play with it recently. I want to have a look at creating my own themes and styles etc to find out exactly how flexible it is as a light-weight CMS.
Finally I have crumbled and gone to the effort of installing it on my laptop.
A word of advice for anyone trying the same thing and installing via the Microsoft Web Platform Installer, make sure MySQL is installed first, otherwise your site setup will initially fail.
I’ll also have a look at WAMP Server, which Joel just mentioned to me and see if that work well for my aged PC at home
